What is Ops Assist

Ops Assistant supports flight operations by generating alerts, notifications and providing visibility into important events during a flight.

Ops Assist allows Mission Profiles creation, which define how monitoring and alerts should work for different types of operations or aircraft. 

• Enroute weather advisories (AIRMET/SIGMET) and NOTAMs along the flight path

• Weather conditions at the destination

• Navigation data during flight

• Crew communication 

• Emergency communication readiness

Mission Profiles also define the type of flight. This information appears in the Flight Ops Panel, helping operators quickly understand the operational context of the flight.

Ops Assistant automatically applies the configured Mission Profile when a new flight starts for the associated aircraft. Profiles can also be updated during an active flight if operational requirements change.

Module Activation / Deactivation

1. Click Admin. 
2. Select Organisation.
3. Select Modules.
4. Select Ops Assist tab.
5. Click Activate / Deactivate Ops Assistant.

What is the Function of the Ops Assist Mission Profiles

The Ops Assist Mission Profiles page allows administrators to configure how Ops Assist operates for specific aircraft and mission types. Mission Profiles define the capabilities and behaviour the system should apply automatically when a flight begins.

1. System Status (1)

At the top of the page, the System Status section shows whether the core services required for Ops Assist are currently active.

The services displayed are:

• Spidertxt - Indicates if messaging is Active.

• Flight Ops Messaging - Shows the status (Active or Inactive) if messaging between the aircraft and the platform

• Flight Ops Assist - Confirms whether the Ops Assist functionality is Active.

If all services show Active, the system is fully operational.

Setting Up Mission Profiles (2)

The Mission Profiles section is where you configure operational profiles for aircraft. Mission Profiles define how Ops Assistant behaves for specific aircraft and operation types, such as enabling certain automation features or operational capabilities. Each profile can be applied as the default profile for one or more aircraft.

To Add a Mission Profile

1. Click Add.

2. Add a Profile Name, this appear in the pilots and operations profile section.

3. Add an optional Description.

4. Select an Aircraft if required.

5. Toggle the extra capabilities you would like added, these appear in the Flight Ops Messaging Panel.

6. Click Add.

Reviewing, Revising & Deleting Profiles (3)

Mission Profiles define how Ops Assistant behaves for specific aircraft and operation types.

1. Notes - Notification / Status. Indicates configuration issues that may prevent Mission Profiles from working correctly. 

In the example below (1), this warning alerts the user that at least one aircraft still needs a proper configuration.

• A default Mission Profile is not set for 1 of the 2 aircraft.

• 0 non-SX aircraft are detected (these would be unsupported).

• 1 aircraft does not have a device assigned, which is also unsupported.

2. Search functions allow you to search either the Profile Name or by Aircraft.

To review, revise and delete Profiles (3):

1. Click on the Profile you wish to review.
2. Update the details you need to revise.
3. Click Save, Or
4. Click Delete.

Using Mission Profiles (Ops - Web):

Mission Profiles can be accessed from the Flight Ops panel.
