Channel Muting (6.3.1)
Channel mute and unmute controls are now available for Flight Ops Messaging conversations.
Individual aircraft channels can be muted or unmuted to manage notifications for off-duty operations team members. Muting can be applied per aircraft or across all aircraft at once.
Custom Crew Messages (6.3.3)
The custom messages that Admins can setup for Crew members are now accessible to mobile users paired with a Spider in a Flight Operations Messaging conversation.
This feature complements the web/flight follower custom messages by enabling operators to make their standard protocol messages available automatically for all team members to ensure clarity and consistency in flight operations communications.
Flight Forms (6.3.0)
Basic flight details can now be submitted using Flight Forms within Flight Ops Messaging.
Flight Forms enable structured sharing of key flight information between pilot and operations teams. Forms can be viewed and edited by both parties within the conversation.
Flight Forms will play an important role in an upcoming feature release.
Flight Ops Assistant
We’re excited to introduce the Flight Ops Assistant — an intelligent, real-time assistant designed to support pilots and flight followers throughout the flight.
Operating directly within your Spidertxt conversations, the assistant monitors flight progress and conditions, and proactively shares concise, relevant updates to improve situational awareness and reduce workload.
What it does:
- Provides near real-time alerts and summaries during flight
- Monitors key events like route deviations, delays, and communication gaps
- Shares important updates directly in your flight conversation
The assistant is designed to support decision-making, not replace it, keeping pilots and operations teams informed with clear, prioritised information.
🧭 Flight Assistant ETA (6.3.12)
- Aircraft info panel now displays automatic ETA or distance to destination
- Smart logic ensures ETA is only shown when meaningful (e.g. en route vs approach)
- Helps flight followers quickly understand progress at a glance
🗺️ Mission Profile Support (6.3.12)
- Mobile flight details form now support mission profiles that govern which Assistant capabilities are active for the flight
- Shows default for the aircraft on power up, and can be changed any time in the flight
Aircraft Tags (6.3.15)
Map/Flying page aircraft identification has improved with with the addition of aircraft registration labels/tags on the map. These function the same as the web app, with the tag colour indicating the aircraft state (offline, active, SOS). Inactive aircraft now remaining coloured which improves map contrast, especially on satellite map view. The old setting can be reverted if desired via More > App settings options.
Flight Log totals (6.3.15)
Home> Activity > Totals table now includes Engine, Block and Air time durations where the associated events have been detected by Spider X.
The table columns displayed can be customised under More > App settings.
